Located on a steep, wooded site this home with recent architectural expansions
provided opportunities to create outdoor space. Using blasted site stone
harvested during the foundation work, walls, steps, and terraces were constructed
of this blocky granite to transition from indoor to outdoor. Elements include
an entry garden, bedroom garden, and outdoor kitchen garden complete with
a gas range integrated into a stone wall. Plantings such as birch, sweetfern,
and mountain laurel blend the garden into the surrounding forest.
